This replaced the Level 5 Diploma Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DTLLS)
ThisTraining Qualification UK (TQUK) qualification prepares trainee Teachers to deliver learning programmes in a variety of contexts. It offers trainee teachers and individuals currently training and assessing, the knowledge and understanding required for teaching in further education and training within public, prvate, voluntary or community organistions.
Eligibility
It is appropriate for learners aged 19+ who are:
currently teaching or training; learners must be able to deliver 100 teaching hours
eligible and deemed 'safe' to work with young people or vulnerable adults as a teacher
hold a relevant qualification at a level above that of their learners (ideally Level 3) in their area of specialism
learners that have previously completed the L4 Teaching, Learning and Assessment in Education and Training will not be required to repeat this unit. In addition, some of the observation and assessment evidence may be 'RPL'ed (recognised as prior learning) and included as L5 qualification evidence
Qualification Details
360 GLH (Guided Learning Hours)
1200 TQT delivered through blended learning (Total Qualification Time)
120 credits comprised of: 75 from Group A, 45 from Group B
At least 61 credits taken at Level 5
100 hours of teaching practice (minimum of 8 session observations)
Learners who complete this qualification may choose to register for ‘QTLS’ (Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills) – qualifying you to teach learners aged 14+

(B) Understanding principles and practices of externally assuring the quality of assurance**. L4, 6 credits
