This one-day accredited course equips learners to recognise a range of mental health conditions, how to start a supportive conversation and when/how to signpost a person to seek appropriate professional help.
Course numbers are limited to ensure that you can be safe and supported whilst you learn. The minimum age to complete this course is 14.
Learning takes place in two manageable sessions through a mixture of group activities, presentations and discussions. Each session is built around an ‘ALGEE’ / ‘CARE’ action plan.

- Risk factors and resilience in Mental Health
- Role of the Mental Health First Aider
- Providing advice and support for a person presenting with Mental Ill Health
- Recognising and managing stress
- Identifying signs and symptoms of:
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Psychosis
- Eating Disorders
- Suicide
- Self Harm
- MHFA Action Plan ALGEE / CARE
- Implementing positive Mental Health cultures in the workplace
