The DfE (Department for Education) has published updated guidance on how to check if a person’s qualifications allow them to work in an early years setting and if they can be included in staff:child ratios.
With specific reference to Paediatric First Aid, the report states that “newly qualified stadd with a L2 or L3 early years qualification awarded after 30th June 2016, must also have a full (emergency) Paediatric First Aid certificate within 3 months of starting work … to be counted in the EYFS staff:child ratios at L2 or L3”.
